Celebrating Women in Construction Week

As we celebrate Women in Construction Week 2025, Cornovii Homes proudly recognises the incredible women shaping the future of housing in Shropshire. From the planning stage to on-site project management, our talented team of women play a vital role in building high-quality homes and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the construction industry. 

At Cornovii Homes, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where women can thrive. One shining example of this is Meg Anderson, who has grown her career within the industry and now works as a Senior Development Officer at Cornovii Developments Ltd.

“I have worked within the construction industry for eight years, and I love how fast-paced and ever-changing it is—no two days are ever the same! I think it’s incredibly important to celebrate Women in Construction Week and highlight the successes that women bring to the sector. In fact, my passion for this topic led me to write my dissertation on the stigma of working in a male-dominated industry and how we can better support and encourage more women to enter the field.” 

Meg’s journey is a testament to the opportunities available within construction. Starting as an apprentice, she gained hands-on experience while furthering her education with an HNC in Building Studies and an honours degree in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management. Today, as a Senior Development Officer, she plays a key role in shaping new housing projects across Shropshire. 

“I believe that gaining hands-on experience is the most valuable way to learn and progress within the industry,” Meg shares. “Education has been an important foundation for my career, but it’s the combination of practical experience and learning that has truly helped me advance.”
