Recruitment of Co-Opted CDL Board Member - October 2024

Cornovii Developments Ltd (CDL) is Shropshire Council’s wholly owned development company with a particular focus on building affordable and sustainable homes in the Shropshire Council administrative area.  Established in 2019 CDL has delivered 114 completed units to date with a further 799 homes in the pipeline. A total of 913 homes which will be delivered during the business plan period 2020-2032.

CDL is governed by the Housing Supervisory Board (Shareholder representative) and its own independent CDL Board.  A vacancy has arisen for a Co-Opted Board Member to join the board for a period of 18 months.  This exciting opportunity will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to gain experience of being a non-executive director, getting involved in setting strategic vision, influencing and negotiating, and managing risk in the housing development sector.  In particular, we are keen to appoint someone with financial experience with expertise in development finance, joint ventures and public finance expertise in order to complement the skills range we already have.   The role pays £3,300 per annum and reasonable expenses.

Typically, the board meets in person four times per year and additional duties will include exceptional meetings, away day events, and continuous, professional development (CPD sessions etc.  The attached Job Description and Person Specification provides further information.
